AN EXPERIENCED RESIDENTIAL INFILL DEVELOPMENT TEAM RESIDENTIAL INFILL DEVELOPMENT TEAM SPECIALIZING IN HOUSTON’S URBAN COMMUNITIES AND BEYOND.
In 2009, Southern Porch Development was formed by Sam Seidel, Stephanie Frugé and Drew Ondrey. Together, the principal partners bring expertise in construction, residential real estate and real estate finance.
By prioritizing building integrity, community improvement and eco-friendly projects, Southern Porch Development has developed over 138,000 sq. ft. of land in Houston, realizing $17 million in property value.
This award-winning project is composed of eight single-family homes. Development of this pocket community began with the demolition of the land’s original structure: a 30,000 sq. ft. food distribution warehouse. Civil/site work, underground drainage and utility connections were all addressed before construction began on eight modern craftsman, eco-friendly houses.
Architect: CONTENT Architecture
This project sparked Southern Porch Development’s love affair with the Heights and craftsman style architecture. Once the land was was reconfigured to allow space for multiple homes, the next challenge was to build structures that blended with the existing neighborhood aesthetic. The result was a collection of three modernized houses inspired by Sears Craftsman plans.
Architect: Ethos Design Group
This development was a resulting spinoff from the successful Porch Street on Adele project. Southern Porch Development continued the modern craftsman aesthetic but adjusted construction to offer variety and appeal with a more competitive price point.
